Seminar for Montessori Toddler Teachers featuring Susan Tracy McDaniel


Environmental Design and Developmentally Appropriate Practice: In this two-day seminar, participants will learn how to create an optimal Montessori Infant & Toddler program that is meaningful and developmentally appropriate. Build the skills needed to facilitate a fantastic Montessori classroom! How do Montessori philosophy and child development guide the design of the classroom? You will explore, dissect, and study the first plane of development to learn what an authentic Montessori environment should look and feel like.

Susan Tracy McDaniel, MED, is director of Learning Together Education in Barrington, IL. As a consultant to schools and social service agencies, Susan has both AMI and AMS Infant and Toddler Montessori credentials and provides Montessori teacher education internationally. She has more than 25 years of experience working with children, families and teachers. 

Montessori Teacher Assistant Course featuring Kathryn Miller

MONTESSORI TEACHER ASSISTANT COURSE Instructed by: Kathryn Miller This is two day course is designed to inspire and support the Montessori assistant teacher. Participants will leave with helpful information that will help them to integrate seamlessly as a team member. Areas of emphasis include: Positive Discipline, curriculum overview, theory and practice and the roll of the assistant teacher.

Instructor Kathryn Miller will lead the course. Kathryn has taught at Montessori schools for over 30 years. She is an instructor at the Houston Montessori Center for Teachers and The Institute of Montessori Education focusing on Early Childhood Montessori education. She is a frequent continuing education workshop presenter both locally and nationally for the American Montessori Society, as well as a respected leader in the local Montessori community as a mentor, field consultant, and teacher trainer.

Saturday Workshop: Spirit of the Teacher & Guiding Behavior for Montessori Toddler Teachers featuring Marcia Hubelbank

Participants will learn the positive effects of guiding natural toddler development by using an indirect approach to achieve positive results; learners will deepen their understanding of transitions. They will learn tips and techniques to develop a peaceful toddler community.

Sunday Workshop: Designing Toddler Activities: Children’s Work is Their Play featuring Marcia Hubelbank

Using the sensitive periods as a guide, participants will learn how to create and facilitate appropriate activities and materials for toddlers. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create their own toddler activity (materials and supplies provided) that they can take to their classrooms Monday morning!
